Minister for Primary Industries and Fisheries
The Honourable Tim Mulherin

Making time to go fishing has never been easier

Adding a few fishing hours into busy schedules has never been easier with the newly released Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries 2008 desk top calendar.

The free calendar, which can be downloaded from the DPI&F website, is featured as a computer screensaver and includes useful information such as fisheries rules and regulations, moon phases and school holidays.

Minister for Primary industries and Fisheries Tim Mulherin said the launch of the on-line calendar last year proved to be a huge hit with Queensland recreational fishers.

“The on-line calendar was extremely popular last year as it provided a fresh approach to the previous editions which, until last year, were only available to be downloaded for print,” Mr Mulherin said.

“The fact that it is computer-based enables users to view cartoons and useful messages about sustainable and responsible fishing in a more imaginative way.

“It is also much easier this year for people wanting to download the calendar, as you don’t need to have printing facilities or a high-powered computer system,” he said.

Once installed, the calendar will appear on your screen daily as an automatic screen saver, timed to your specification, and will automatically update the date and month to save you the extra hassle.

To obtain a copy of the calendar, visit www.dpi.qld.gov.au and click on the calendar link, open and name the file and install the calendar within minutes.

Keen fishers may also find a copy of the Recreational fishing rules and regulations for Queensland guide which can be simply downloaded from the above site.
