Premier to celebrate Christmas with Bundaberg seniors
Premier Anna Bligh will help celebrate Christmas this year with the senior community of Bundaberg as she hosts the annual Premier’s Seniors Christmas Concert on Thursday (13 December).
Premier Bligh said she is looking forward to celebrating the spirit of Christmas in Bundaberg and is excited to be hosting a free concert for the local senior community.
“I am thrilled to be visiting Bundaberg and I look forward to bringing some Christmas cheer,” Ms Bligh said.
“Christmas is a special occasion to come together and share in the spirit of the season with family and friends.
“Queenslanders all celebrate Christmas in their own special way and I am delighted to invite seniors from Bundaberg to join me at the Christmas concert and enjoy some sing-alongs to our favourite carols, as well as some classic and contemporary tunes.”
Commencing in 2001, the concert series has been held in regional areas throughout Queensland, from as far west as Charters Towers, east to Hervey Bay, north to Townsville and south to Logan.
Led by professional musicians, the concert will also feature a special performance by students from a local primary school.
There are two concerts in this year’s series, the first was held in Warwick on Tuesday 4 December.
The concert will be held at the Bundaberg Civic Centre, 190 Bourbong Street, Bundaberg from 10.00am to 11.00am and will be followed by a morning tea with the Premier.
Entry to the concert is free, however places are limited. Seniors are encouraged to call (07) 3405 5215 to secure their place. Group bookings are welcome.
