Statement by Kerry Shine, Attorney-General and Minister for Justice

The Queensland Attorney General, Kerry Shine, said tonight that he had been advised by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions that it would conduct an investigation into the conduct of Mr Steve Carter, the Senior Legal Officer responsible for Cape Matters in the DPP’s Cairns chambers.

The Attorney General said he had also been advised by the Office of the DPP that Mr Carter would be stood aside pending the outcome of that investigation.
