Minister for Public Works, Housing and Information and Communication Technology
The Honourable Robert Schwarten
Public Works Minister Robert Schwarten today announced close to $13,000 in funding to repaint the toilet block at Nebo State School.
Mr Schwarten said the funding – from the Department of Public Works’ emergency maintenance fund – would allow for internal and exterior repainting, as well as pre-paint maintenance.
“This is great news for the staff, students and parents at Nebo State School as it will give this block a fresh new look,” Mr Schwarten said.
“The work will be undertaken as soon as possible with every effort being made to minimise disruption to classes.”
Mr Schwarten said the emergency maintenance fund was developed to complement existing maintenance programs and specifically to undertake projects that arose in the course of the year or that were unable to be completed by the school because of the magnitude of the cost.
QBuild – the State Government’s construction and maintenance division – will manage the project.
“This funding demonstrates the State Government’s commitment to properly maintaining public infrastructure for the benefit of the community,” Mr Schwarten said.
