Statement from Premier Anna Bligh
I can confirm today that I have instructed that Mr Harold Shand be asked to immediately stand aside from his position on the Board of WorkCover Queensland.
Mr Shand has agreed.
I took this action following confirmation from the Crime and Misconduct Commission that Mr Shand has been charged in relation to matters involving Mr Gordon Nuttall.
I am unable to comment further as it would be inappropriate given it is now a matter for the courts.
Our Government will continue to cooperate fully with the CMC to ensure the highest levels of honesty and integrity in government are maintained.
