Minister for Public Works, Housing and Information and Communication Technology, Robert Schwarten, will join building industry representatives to officially open the Queensland Building Services Authority’s new head office tomorrow.

The building was previously used by the State Library to warehouse books and has been totally redeveloped featuring many green initiatives such as solar hot water, almost 100,000 litres of rain water storage, plus recycled and recyclable materials.

"Queensland building and construction industry is booming,” Mr Schwarten said.

“The BSA is now servicing over 68,000 licensees and currently has over 500,000 building projects covered by its Home Warranty Insurance Scheme.

“BSA’s relocation to Montague Road is part of its plan to provide greater customer service.”
