The Honourable Warren Pitt

Media Alert

Queensland Main Roads Minister Warren Pitt and Federal Member for Longman Mal Brough will join the Caboolture community on Sunday, 18 November, to celebrate the opening of the Caboolture Bypass and Bruce Highway interchange.

The opening ceremony will be marked by a community event in which the public will be invited to walk across the new Showground bridge.

The $89 million State Government-funded bypass between the D'Aguilar and Bruce highways is scheduled to open to traffic by the end of November.

It has been built after strong lobbying by the State Member for Pumicestone Carryn Sullivan and State Member for Glass House Carolyn Male.

The Australian Government also has provided $40.2 million to link the bypass to the Bruce Highway via the upgrading of the Caboolture-Bribie Island interchange.

This major road project will improve traffic conditions and safety and reduce congestion in Caboolture.
