Rosalie SES Volunteer takes top honours
Rosalie State Emergency Service (SES) volunteer Brynwyn Sullivan has been named the South West Region’s SES Member of the Year.
Emergency Services Minister Neil Roberts said Brynwyn stood out in an impressive field of nominees for her dedication to the SES and her community.
“Brynwyn received the SES Member of the Year award for her outstanding service, enthusiasm, and selfless approach to her duties as an SES volunteer,” Mr Roberts said.
SES and Emergency Management Queensland Regional Director Rhys Fraser said Brynwyn had a caring nature which extended to both her peers in the organisation and to the community.
“The community of Rosalie and surrounding areas has undoubtedly benefited from Brynwyn’s commitment to the SES and her town,” Mr Fraser said.
“Brynwyn regularly engages in community events and also assists people in need and helps them get back on their feet.”
Mr Fraser said the Bendemere Unit has been named the region’s Unit of the Year due to the outstanding levels of support it had provided to the community over the past year.
Winners of the regional awards have been nominated for SES Week State awards, which will be presented at a ceremony in Brisbane on Sunday 18 November.
