Minister for Transport, Trade, Employment and Industrial Relations
The Honourable John Mickel
FOCUS OF STUDY REVEALED FOR RAIL UPGRADE
Development of the Landsborough to Nambour Rail Corridor has progressed with the release of the study focus area for the project.
Transport Minister John Mickel said the study focus area showed a number of sites where it would be possible to locate a suitable route for the upgrade of the Landsborough to Nambour section of the North Coast Line.
"The focus area is based on both a technical assessment and feedback gathered from the community through a recent Community Values and Transportation Survey," he said.
Potentially affected communities are encouraged to comment on the study focus area by close of business on Friday, 14 December.
Member for Glasshouse Carolyn Male said the study focus area would be available for viewing from next Monday (19 November). From this date, an update containing a map of the study focus area will be posted directly to landowners within the study focus area, and it will also be distributed to letterboxes of other residents in the local area.
The study focus area can also be viewed:
- online at www.landsborough-nambour.com.au
- at local libraries, post offices and shops in the area
- at Queensland Transport customer service centres in Caboolture, Nambour, Caloundra, Noosa, Gympie and Tewantin
- at Maroochy Shire and Caloundra City Council administration centres
- by requesting a copy of the study update on 1800 221 991 or by emailing railstudy@landsborough-nambour.com.au.
There will also be public information days at:
