Minister for Emergency Services
The Honourable Neil Roberts

Wear Orange to Work on Wednesday

Queenslanders are being urged to show their support for State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers and wear orange to work tomorrow (Wednesday, 14 November).

Emergency Services Minister Neil Roberts said this week was SES Week (10 to 18 November)

“The distinctive orange SES uniform is worn by volunteers who donate tens of thousands of hours each year to their communities,” Mr Roberts said.

“The orange uniform of SES volunteers has become synonymous with the dedication and commitment of the men and women who wear it with great pride.”

“Wear Orange to Work Day is an opportunity for the community to show their appreciation and respect for an organisation which is always ready to help.

“Whether it’s searching for a missing bushwalker, helping residents with storm damage, rescuing someone stranded on the side of a cliff, or assisting at a road accident, SES volunteers are there when their community needs them most."
