Young Queensland golfers will be competing to retain the Craig Parry Shield as part of the under-12 school sport Australia Invitational Golf championships in Brisbane next week.
Education and Training Minister Rod Welford said Wynnum Golf Club would host the championships from 21-25 October.
“The students have been selected for their hard work, talent and skill and I’d like to congratulate them and wish them every success,” Mr Welford said.
“It’s even more exciting that the Queensland players have the opportunity to defend the shield on home soil.
“Thirty-six players in all will compete in the championships – eight boys and four girls from each state – New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria.
