Sunshine Coast export seminar targets Hong Kong market

SUNSHINE Coast manufacturers and businesses will have an opportunity to meet trade experts and learn more about expanding their international export base, Minister for Trade John Mickel said today.
“Queensland Government trade specialists will share their knowledge of the markets in Hong Kong and Southern China with companies attending the Export Opportunities seminar,” he said.
Mr Mickel said Queensland Trade and Investment Commissioner in Hong Kong and Southern China, Mr Simon Lee would share his invaluable insights on the region and highlight opportunities.
He said in 2006-2007 Queensland exported $322.2 million worth of merchandise goods to Hong Kong.
Mr Mickel said the seminar is part of the annual Export Week, which recognises the important contribution of the exporting sector in Queensland to the State’s economic development and prosperity.
Commissioner Lee will also outline future Queensland Government activities in Hong Kong including participation in Cosmoprof Asia 2007 (14-16 November 2007), Asia’s most renowned professional beauty exhibition and one of the biggest events in the calendar for beauty industry buyers from across Asia.
The Queensland Government will also be participating in the Australian Lifestyle Expo in Guangzhou (4-12 December 2007).
