Minister for Transport, Trade, Employment and Industrial Relations
The Honourable John Mickel

Commuters and other passengers will travel in new-look and improved Sunbus services from Monday.

The buses will feature new TransLink livery, a new express route between Caloundra and Maroochydore, and route number changes to the 601 bus service.

Transport Minister John Mickel said TransLink's new livery would give a uniform look for bus services throughout south east Queensland.

"Passengers will be able to quickly and easily recognise a TransLink bus anywhere in the public transport network in south east Queensland, which is handy for passengers who are new to the network," he said.

In addition to the transformation of Sunbus buses to TransLink vehicles, the existing 601 route will be replaced with two renumbered routes.

The renamed 600 route will travel from Caloundra to Maroochydore, while the renamed 620 route will travel between Maroochydore and Noosa Heads.

Both the 600 and 620 will run seven days a week, servicing all stops, between 6am and 7pm.

TransLink is making it easier to get to work on the Sunshine Coast with the new 601 express weekday service from Caloundra to Maroochydore. It will run hourly between 6am and 7pm from Monday to Friday, cutting 15 minutes off the time taken by the all-stops service.

"In the past three years, 88 new buses have been added to the Sunshine Coast public transport network, and use of the Sunshine Coast bus services has increased by 49 per cent," Mr Mickel said.

"This year alone, the Queensland Government will spend more than $8 million on improvements to services in the Sunshine Coast region."
