Minister for Tourism, Regional Development and Industry
The Honourable Desley Boyle
Tickets to Queensland tourism industry’s night-of-nights, the Queensland Tourism Awards 2007, have officially gone on sale, Tourism Minister Desley Boyle said today.
Ms Boyle said tickets were limited and encouraged people to get in early to guarantee their place.
The Queensland Tourism Awards 2007 are presented by Queensland Airports Limited and will be held at the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre on Saturday, 10 November.
"This is the second time in the awards’ 20 year plus history that the event has been held in Townsville and I am so pleased to see it held in the north," Ms Boyle said.
"It's a great opportunity to show off the twin cities and the wider region to the entire Queensland tourism industry."
Ms Boyle said the Queensland Tourism Awards would showcase the dedication and excellence of Queensland’s tourism operators to more than 800 Queensland tourism representatives.
"Queensland’s tourism industry is based on partnerships and professionalism, and the Queensland Tourism Awards celebrates the strength of these partnerships."
Tickets are available from www.queenslandtourismawards.com.au or by contacting Melissa Webster at melissa.webster@tq.com.au or 07 3535 5375. Ticket costs are $180.00 per person or $1800.00 for a table of 10.
The Awards’ Principal Partner Queensland Airports Limited (QAL) owns and operates Gold Coast, Townsville and Mount Isa airports and last year more than 5.3 million passengers passed through the three airports.
