The Honourable Craig Wallace

Applying for many state land-related services will be much easier thanks to new Internet-based forms, Natural Resources and Water Minister Craig Wallace said today.

Mr Wallace said putting the new forms on the internet had improved the application process, which benefited both the applicant and the department.

“Applicants receive a much better guide to access the information they want as well as background information about their application and how it will be processed,” Mr Wallace said.

“The department’s job will be made easier because we will receive early and accurate information that we require to process the applications.

“In the past we’ve received applications for complex dealings that did not provide all the relevant information.

“That meant the application process could be long and complicated for both sides, but the new forms take people through the application process and give us all the required information to initiate our investigations.”

To date, 19 different forms that deal with state land dealings are available. Accompanying fact sheets provide the necessary background information.

Mr Wallace said the forms could be completed on online and then printed out, or printed out and filled in by hand.

The legal requirement that the forms contain signatures - and often an accompanying payment - mean the completed forms still had to be mailed in to the department.

“Nevertheless, being able to access the necessary application forms on-line will be a significant saving to many people, in some cases relieving them of the need for a trip to town to get what they need,” Mr Wallace said.
