Collinsville QGAP officer celebrates 15 years of service

One of the Queensland Government's most successful initiatives celebrates 15 years of service this month.

The Queensland Government Agent Program (QGAP), the first approach of its kind anywhere in Australia, was introduced as a pilot project in 1992 through 13 franchised outlets and now operates at 68 sites across the State.

Also celebrating 15 years of service is Collinsville QGAP Manager Peter Fallon, who was one of 13 original QGAP officers trained as part of the pilot project.

"You have to be a jack of all trades when you work for QGAP because essentially you deliver services on behalf of many government departments," Mr Fallon said.

“That means everything from vehicle registration and licence plate issues to permit applications and power-of-attorney services,” he said.

To celebrate the success of QGAP during the past 15 years and to recognise the contribution of one of its longest serving members, residents will surprise Mr Fallon with a QGAP birthday cake at the Collinsville Courthouse at 10am tomorrow, Friday 13 July.
