Premier and Minister for Trade
The Honourable Peter Beattie
PREMIER VISITS NSW TO PROMOTE QUEENSLAND BUSINESS
Premier Peter Beattie will visit Sydney tomorrow to promote Queensland business and smart state initiatives to some of Australia’s biggest companies.
“Although I am in Sydney for just the day I will be pushing the Smart State’s capabilities and potential to a broad range of businesses involved in the tourism, transport, infrastructure and development sectors,” Mr Beattie said.
“The focus of my visit is a lunchtime address to the Tourism and Transport Forum Australia.
“This will allow me to highlight to some of the nation’s pre-eminent companies the dynamic opportunities Queensland represents, not just for tourism but as a result of the massive infrastructure program now well underway across the State.
“Everyday Queenslanders are watching that infrastructure program roll-out across their region – roads, dams, new hospitals.
“I want to ensure that interstate and international companies are fully aware of the opportunities this represents.
“At the end of the day this is all about jobs and prosperity for Queenslanders,” Mr Beattie said.
The Premier will also address a Leadership Dinner while in Sydney tomorrow. Companies in attendance include a wide range of national and international companies interested in investing and working in Queensland.
