Premier Peter Beattie will visit the Whitsunday region this weekend for Community Cabinet.

Saturday, June 16

At approximately 6.45pm the Premier will tour Dairy Farmers Stadium to inspect progress on State Government funded improvements to the venue. He will then attend the Cowboys-Storm match.

Sunday, June 17

At 10am the Premier will attend celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the Burdekin River Bridge in Ayr.

At 12.15pm the Premier will visit the set of the film ‘Australia’. He will arrive at the Port Dennison Sailing Club, 1 Thomas Street for the safety induction. He will meet with Director Baz Luhrmann and local volunteers. Media wishing to attend this event are required to contact Edweana Wenkart on 0407 663 156. Access to the site will not be allowed without permission from Edweana.

At 1.30pm the Premier will attend the Bowen Community Cabinet Forum at McKenna Hall, Bowen State High School, 1-9 Argyle Park Road, Bowen.

Monday, June 18

At 9am Premier Peter Beattie will officially open the Proserpine Sport and Multipurpose Complex, Proserpine State High School, Ruge Street, Proserpine.

At 10am media are invited to get overlay at the commencement of Cabinet at the Airlie Beach PCYC, Shute Harbour Drive.

At the conclusion of Cabinet at approximately 12.30pm the Premier will hold a media conference at Shute Harbour Ferry Terminus (next to Fantasea Cruises).
