SCHWARTEN ANNOUNCES FUNDING FOR SUNSHINE COAST HOME ASSIST SECURE PROVIDERS
Housing Minister Robert Schwarten today announced three Sunshine Coast Home Assist Secure providers would share in more than $1.1 million in funding from the State Government to help deliver services.
Mr Schwarten said Maroochy Home Assist Secure would receive $557,718, Caloundra Home Assist Secure would receive $417,000 and Noosa Home Assist Secure would receive $212,400.
“This is great news for the three Sunshine Coast Home Assist Secure providers and the clients they serve,” Mr Schwarten said.
“Home Assist Secure - managed by the Housing Department - plays a vital role in the Sunshine Coast community.
“It removes some of the practical housing-related difficulties experienced by the elderly and people with a disability who want to stay living in their homes for as long as possible.”
Home Assist Secure provides free information and referrals about home maintenance, repairs, modifications, falls prevention and home security.
The funding for the three Sunshine Coast Home Assist Secure providers is part of more than $14.4 million allocated to 41 Home Assist Secure providers across the State this year.
“Home Assist Secure is doing a great job of helping elderly people and people with a disability feel secure in their own homes for longer,” he said.
“It is one of a number of private housing initiatives managed by the Department of Housing that provides housing assistance to Queenslanders.”
