REEF TO RANGE DISPLAY AT AGROTREND

'Reef to Range' is the theme of a joint display by two Queensland Government agencies at this year’s AgroTrend field days at Bundaberg, Natural Resources and Water Minister Craig Wallace said today.

The three-day event will be held at the AgroTrend ground near Bundaberg airport on Kendalls Road from Thursday (May 10).

“With water conservation high on the agenda, the department will host a display and practical demonstrations of water metering equipment,” Mr Wallace said.

Information on land, vegetation, compliance and cultural heritage will also be features of the stand.

Mr Wallace said the AgroTrend pavilion, shared with the Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries, would be located close to the food halls and central stage.

Mr Wallace said AgroTrend provided an opportunity for property owners and farmers to have their questions answered in person and to gain an insight into sustainable and responsible management of land, water and vegetation.

“Departmental staff will be available to discuss land and water management plans and visitors can view soil maps of the local area, as well as view the local landscape in 3D using a stereoscope.“

Fact sheets on topics such as vegetation management, land and water management planning and the Queensland Government’s Home and Garden WaterWise rebate scheme will also be available.
