The Honourable Warren Pitt
Responses to industry-driven growth to be discussed at Dysart Ministerial Regional Community Forum
Queensland Government initiatives to address industry-driven growth on the Central Highlands will be on the agenda when the Ministerial Regional Community Forum for the Mackay–Whitsunday region heads to Dysart on Tuesday, 8 May.
Communities Minister Warren Pitt said Queensland Government Ministers and Members of Parliament would also discuss a proposal regarding communication between the mining industry and state and local governments with regional representatives, known as forum members.
“I encourage anyone interested in local issues to attend the forum as part of the public audience and listen to the views of forum members and the attending MPs,” Mr Pitt said.
The MPs scheduled to attend the Dysart Ministerial Regional Community Forum are:
• Minister for Primary Industries and Fisheries, Tim Mulherin
• Parliamentary Secretary for Primary Industries and Fisheries and Regional Queensland Councillor for Mackay–Whitsunday, Jan Jarratt.
The forum will be held at the Dysart Civic Centre, 16 Queen Elizabeth Dr, Dysart, at 12.30 pm.
Mr Pitt said the popular Ministerial Regional Community Forums were held simultaneously in 10 locations throughout Queensland four times a year, enabling Queenslanders to get involved in local issues and help develop local solutions.
