The Honourable Warren Pitt
Social impacts of new development to be discussed at Barcaldine Ministerial Regional Community Forum
The social impacts of new development will be on the agenda when the Ministerial Regional Community Forum for Central Queensland heads to Barcaldine on Tuesday, 8 May.
Communities Minister Warren Pitt said Queensland Government Ministers and Members of Parliament would also discuss access to broadband and mobile phone services in regional areas with regional representatives, known as forum members.
“I encourage anyone interested in local issues to attend the forum as part of the public audience and listen to the views of forum members and the attending MPs,” Mr Pitt said.
The MPs scheduled to attend the Barcaldine Ministerial Regional Community Forum are:
• Minister for Emergency Services, Pat Purcell
• Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education and Training and Minister for the Arts, Bonny Barry
• Regional Queensland Councillor for Fitzroy–Central West Queensland and Member for Keppel, Paul Hoolihan.
The forum will take place at the Barcaldine Town Hall, 71 Ash St, Barcaldine, from 10.30 am.
People attending the forum will have an opportunity to meet with forum members and discuss regional issues from 9.30 am to 10.30 am.
Mr Pitt said the popular Ministerial Regional Community Forums were held simultaneously in 10 locations throughout Queensland four times a year, enabling Queenslanders to get involved in local issues and help develop local solutions.
