The Honourable Warren Pitt
Support for carers to be discussed at Wellington Point Ministerial Regional Community Forum
Support for carers will be on the agenda when the Ministerial Regional Community Forum for the Brisbane region heads to Wellington Point on Tuesday, 8 May.
Communities Minister Warren Pitt said Queensland Government Ministers and Members of Parliament would discuss the issue of carers with regional representatives known as forum members.
“I encourage anyone interested in local issues to attend the forum as part of the public audience and listen to the views of forum members and the attending MPs,” Mr Pitt said.
The MPs scheduled to attend the Wellington Point Ministerial Regional Community Forum are:
• Minister for Public Works, Housing and Information and Communication Technology, Robert Schwarten
• Minister for Mines and Energy, Geoff Wilson
• Regional Queensland Councillor for Greater Brisbane and Member for Sandgate, Vicky Darling.
The forum will be held at the Redlands Sporting Club, Anson Road, Wellington Point, from 10.45 am, with a post-forum discussion from 1.30 pm for forum members and the general public to talk about issues of regional significance.
Mr Pitt said the popular Ministerial Regional Community Forums were held simultaneously in 10 locations throughout Queensland four times a year, enabling Queenslanders to get involved in local issues and help develop local solutions.
