NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPOINTED TO QETI
Queensland Education and Training International (QETI) has appointed Greg Milne as Executive Director, Trade and International Operations Brisbane.
Premier Peter Beattie said Mr Milne had a developed a strong background in education and training through his high-level work in the Education, Training and Arts portfolio, and brought considerable experience to the role.
“Before giving almost a decade of his career to the Queensland Government, including his current role as senior advisor to the Education, Training and Arts Minister, Greg owned and operated an international media consultancy and had an impressive career with ABC.
“Greg has professional experience across the globe, including the United Kingdom, Gambia, Guam, Tonga, the Solomon Islands and Zambia and his understanding of the international arena will be valuable to QETI.”
Mr Beattie said the international education and training industry in Queensland now supported more than 9000 jobs across the state.
“I established QETI within my Department in 2001 with a goal to grow the Queensland education and training industry to $1 billion by last year (2006).
“This target has been achieved and QETI continues to work with and provide leadership to international education and training providers, both public and private.”
Mr Beattie said QETI supports and extends the principles of the Smart State and fuels the development of a globally competitive knowledge economy.
