Attorney-General and Minister for Justice and Minister Assisting the Premier in Western Queensland
The Honourable Kerry Shine
Acting Magistrates appointed
The appointment of two acting Magistrates was approved by Executive Council today, Attorney-General Kerry Shine said.
Mr Shine said Andrew Walker, the Clerk of the Court at Cloncurry, and Raimund Heggie, the Court Registrar at Atherton, would be appointed acting Magistrates for 12 months.
“The appointment of acting Magistrates supports the operation of Magistrates Courts in Queensland, in particular in centres where the court is conducted by a single Magistrate,” Mr Shine said.
“There are 85 Magistrates in Queensland. The appointment of an additional Magistrate to Southport was approved last week.”
