Ratification of the regulatory provisions of the SOUTH EAST QUEENSLAND REGIONAL PLAN 2005 - 2026 AMENDMENT 1, Deputy Premier, Treasurer and Minister for Infrastructure
The South East Queensland Regional Plan 2005 - 2026 was released on 30 June 2005 and lays the foundation for safeguarding our environment, managing development and retaining the very qualities that attract people to this region in the first place. An area around Mt Lindesay/Beaudesert was designated for further investigation.
Amendment 1 provides a planning framework for this area, achieving balance between developing urban areas to accommodate future growth and protecting the environment and rural landscape. Amendment 1 also includes minor changes to the regulatory provisions to improve the workability of the plan and minor changes to the regulatory maps to reflect local government planning schemes.

The Bill updates the corporate governance framework for State Government Owned Corporations as it will replicate, where possible, the corporations law that applies to publicly listed companies. The changes will also streamline administrative processes for executive appointments and dividend payments. The proposals will improve the operations of Government Owned Corporations whilst protecting the Government's investment in these businesses.
