BIG TOURISM WEEK FOR OUTBACK

Outback Queensland Tourism Authority has topped off the annual Outback Week celebrations by winning an Australian Tourism Award.

Tourism Minister Margaret Keech, who attended the awards in Sydney on Friday night, congratulated Outback Queensland Tourism Authority for its ongoing commitment to tourism in one of Australia’s most unique regions.

“No Queensland holiday is complete without a trip to Queensland’s Outback,” she said.

“Outback Queensland Tourism Authority continues to work closely with Tourism Queensland and industry to innovate and develop its local industry.

“Winning the ‘Media’ category for Queensland’s Outback Travellers’ Guide is major national recognition of the tireless work being undertaken to raise the region’s profile.

“The Queensland’s Outback Travellers’ Guide is designed to be a must-have traveller’s companion for anyone planning a holiday in Outback Queensland.

“The publication was produced by the Outback Queensland Tourism Authority and Tourism Queensland in conjunction with Outback operators.

“This win is the perfect culmination to a week of celebrations surrounding Outback Week.

“This week the region also launched another in the line of Outback tourism publications with the Great Outback Queensland Pubs Guide.

“Outback Queensland will also soon be seen domestically and internationally as part of the R.M. Williams Outback catalogue and promotional campaign.”
