Premier and Minister for Trade
The Honourable Peter Beattie
INTERIM MEASURES FOR HEALTH MINISTRY
Premier Peter Beattie has this morning announced interim measures while Health Minister Stephen Robertson recuperates from surgery.
Minister for Child Safety Desley Boyle will act in the role of Health Minister.
Mr Robertson was admitted to St Andrews Private Hospital on Friday night.
“Stephen underwent a heart procedure called angioplasty,” Mr Beattie said.
“He is recovering well and due to go home today which is really great news.
“Doctors have advised Stephen to take some weeks to fully recover from the procedure, and that’s exactly what he’ll do.
“Stephen told me over the weekend that he hadn’t been feeling well last week. He was occasionally short of breath.
“He did the smart thing and went and saw his doctor about it.
“After some tests, Stephen was admitted to hospital and underwent the successful cardiac procedure.
“I encourage any Queenslander with shortness of breath, chest pains or any cardio-vascular complaint to go and see their doctor to get it checked out.”
