Minister for Public Works, Housing and Information and Communication Technology
The Honourable Robert Schwarten
FUNDING FOR NEW WATER TANK AT YARRAMAN STATE SCHOOL
Public Works Minister Robert Schwarten today announced funding of more than $13,000 to install a new 23,000 litre water tank at Yarraman State School.
Mr Schwarten said the funding, from the Department of Public Works’ emergency maintenance fund, would also allow for the replacement of four bubbler taps at the school’s Block D and two leaking bubblers underneath Block A with new taps.
“It’s certainly not news to the members of the Yarraman State School community that we’re in the middle of one of the worst droughts on record,” Mr Schwarten said.
“This funding will allow for the supply and installation of a new poly tank as well as the installation of re-run pipes to the D Block bubblers.
“The project is great news for the entire Yarraman State School community.”
Mr Schwarten said the funding demonstrated the State Government’s commitment to properly maintaining public buildings like schools for the benefit of the community.
He said the Yarraman School project would be managed by QBuild, the State Government’s construction and maintenance organisation, and would be completed in the near future.
