BSA HOME BUILDING CONTRACTS NOW FREE ON THE WEB

Two of the Queensland Building Services Authority’s popular home building contract packs are now available for free download from BSA’s website.

Public Works, Housing and Information and Communication Technology Minister, Rob Schwarten, said the contracts are in PDF format for ease and speed of download.

“This service provides a single document file for each of BSA’s Major Works and Minor Works Contract Packs,” he said.

“Each pack is written in plain English and is designed to simplify the process of documenting all aspects of a building contract, including progress payments and variations.

“The files can be printed out for use via office or home computers and printers, and individual pages may be photocopied as often as necessary to provide copies of Schedules, Information Statements and completed forms to other parties to the contract.”

BSA General Manager Ian Jennings said the packs will provide building contractors and owners with unprecedented access to fully compliant contract documentation as each has been designed to meet all the requirements of the Domestic Building Contracts Act 2000.

"BSA's Major Works Contract Pack is suitable for domestic building projects with a contract price exceeding $40,000", he said.

“This includes major renovations and the construction of entire homes. This type of contract is also called a Designated Stages Contract, and it includes a contract schedule and a full range of supporting documents including BSA's Major Works Consumer Guide and all necessary forms.

"BSA's Minor Works Contract Pack is suitable for domestic building projects with a contract price between $3,301 and $40,000 and would be suitable for many renovation projects.

“It also includes a contract schedule and a full range of supporting documents including BSA's Minor Works Information Statement and all necessary forms.

For those who prefer the complete, professionally printed, Major Works and Minor Works contract packs, these are still available for purchase for $10 each including GST, at any BSA office - or by downloading an order form from the BSA’s website.
