Douglas Shire has 21 days to Show Cause: Fraser

Local Government and Planning Minister Andrew Fraser has told the Parliament the Douglas Shire Council has 21 days – not 14 – to respond to a Show Cause Notice issued by the State Government yesterday.

“Earlier today I advised the House that the Douglas Shire Council had 14 days to answer a Show Cause Notice delivered to them this morning by the Director-General of the department of Local Government, Planning and Sport,” Mr Fraser told Parliament last night.

“Under the terms of the Show Cause Notice, the council has in fact until 28 February to provide its response.”
