Premier and Minister for Trade
The Honourable Peter Beattie
Premier Peter Beattie today released the Queensland Government’s ‘First 100 Days Report’.
The report details the delivery of the 79 promises the Premier committed his Government to finalise within the first 100 days of his re-election in September.
“Today is the 100th day since our re-election and I am pleased to be able to announce that the Queensland Government has delivered on all 79 commitments,” Mr Beattie said.
“The delivery of that promise matters because I made the commitment to ensure that my government was focused on the delivery of projects vital to the growth and continuing prosperity of Queensland.
“It also means as a government we’ve begun this term pushing hard and delivering on the projects that matter.
“These projects include important milestones in delivering better health services for Queensland; delivering the water grid; delivering improved roads and schools and education and training.
“Of course this is just the beginning and many of the important projects, particularly those connected to the water grid, are on very tight deadlines.
“Over coming months the Deputy Premier and I will continue to monitor the deadlines on these important projects,” Mr Beattie said
The 79 commitments made by the Premier were the responsibility of Queensland Health, Department of Premier and Cabinet, Natural Resources and Water, Education and Training, Arts, Co-ordinator General, Department of Local Government, State Development, Mines and Energy, the Departments of Transport and Main Roads, the Queensland Police Service, Industrial Relations, Public Works, Justice and Attorney General and the Department of Corrective Services.
