SPENCE CONGRATULATES LONG SERVING DIRECTOR-GENERAL

Corrective Services Minister Judy Spence has today congratulated her long serving Director-General, Frank Rockett, upon his retirement from the public service.

Mr Rockett officially announced his retirement yesterday, after 36 years in the Queensland public service.

Ms Spence said that as Director-General of Queensland Corrective Services for nearly three years, Frank Rockett was responsible for implementing some of the most important initiatives and reforms in Queensland’s correctional system in many years.

“Queensland Corrective Services has grown and prospered under Frank Rockett’s stewardship,” Ms Spence said.

“It has been a pleasure working with him and I wish Frank and his family all the best in his retirement.”

Ms Spence said she has appointed the current Deputy Director-General, Neil Whittaker, as Acting Director-General until the process for determining a permanent Director-General is finalised.
