Premier and Minister for Trade
The Honourable Peter Beattie

Premier Peter Beattie has urged Queenslanders to support tomorrow’s national rally against the Howard Government’s WorkChoices industrial relations agenda.

Mr Beattie said he would attend and address Queensland’s major rally at South Bank

“The Queensland Government has been at the forefront of the national fight against the Howard Government’s extreme industrial relations legislation, and our fight will continue,” Mr Beattie said.

“These unfair laws are having a negative impact on the lives of ordinary working Australians.

“Tomorrow is an opportunity for Queenslanders and Australians to join together to remind the Howard Government that we will not forget the human impact of these ridiculous laws, and that we will remember when we go to the polls next year.”

Mr Beattie said the major rally in Brisbane would be held from 8:30am – 11am (QLD time) at the Cultural Forecourt, South Bank (Victoria Bridge Entrance).
