Minister for Education and Training and Minister for the Arts
The Honourable Rod Welford
YEAR 12s TAKE THE NEXT STEP
Minister for Education and Training, Rod Welford, today congratulated the 41,000 Queensland Year 12 students who tomorrow (Friday 17 November) complete high school.
Mr Welford said the students had reached an important turning point in their lives and would soon embark on new pathways into employment, training or tertiary study.
“I wish them every success and congratulate them on their achievements,” Mr Welford said.
“By completing high school, students have already taken significant steps on the pathway leading towards their future careers.”
Mr Welford said the next few weeks would be a time of excitement mixed with anxiety for the 24,000 state and 17,000 non-state school graduating seniors awaiting their final results.
"The Queensland Studies Authority will be mailing out their Student Education Profile (SEP), which includes the Senior Certificate and Tertiary Entrance Statement, for most students on Friday 15 December,” he said.
School leavers can also check their OP (Overall Position) and Field Positions (FPs) by registering for the QSA’s Smart OP service at www.smartop.qsa.qld.edu.au between now and 14 December.
Smart OP gives students access to their results on the QSA website, and by SMS, at least two days before they receive the traditional notification by mail around 18 December.
Smart OP services will be available on the Web from 9am, 16 December to 12 noon on 8 January. For other inquiries students can contact the QSA on (07) 3864 0299.
The QSA provides OPs only to individual students, their school Principal and the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC). Students have until Wednesday 3 January to lodge any change of tertiary preference to QTAC, online at www.qtac.edu.au.
From 1am on 11 January students can access their tertiary offers via the QTAC website.
Tertiary offers will be published in The Courier-Mail and selected regional newspapers on Friday 12 January and posted to students on the same day for delivery around 15 January.
