Minister for Public Works, Housing and Information and Communication Technology
The Honourable Robert Schwarten

Public Works Minister Robert Schwarten today announced Millaa Millaa State School’s A and B blocks would soon receive a fresh new look with funding approved to repaint the buildings.

Mr Schwarten said funding for the $62,000 project would come from the Department of Public Works’ emergency maintenance fund.

“The Department of Public Works emergency maintenance fund exists for urgent projects that are too large to complete under regular maintenance programs,” Mr Schwarten said.

“Blocks A and B at Millaa Millaa State School require some attention and this funding will allow the external walls of both buildings to be thoroughly cleaned and then repainted.

“QBuild – the State Government’s construction and maintenance organisation – will manage the work in partnership with the school to minimise disruption to classes.”

Mr Schwarten said the funding further demonstrated the Beattie Government’s continued commitment to ensuring school buildings and grounds were properly maintained.
