The Honourable Robert Schwarten
THREE BURNETT SCHOOL SHARE IN MAINTENANCE FUNDING
Three Burnett schools will share in more than $27,000 in emergency maintenance funds, Public Works Minister Robert Schwarten announced today.
Mr Schwarten said $13,358 had been approved from the Department of Public Works’ emergency maintenance fund to remove three large trees from the front of the administration building at Isis District State High School.
He said $8,060 had also been approved to repair sun hoods on block B at Bargara State School and $6,316 to replace the hand rail to the fire stairs on block E at Rosedale State School.
“The Department of Public Works emergency maintenance fund exists for urgent projects that are too large to complete under regular maintenance programs,” Mr Schwarten said.
“QBuild – the State Government’s construction and maintenance organisation – will manage the work in partnership with each of the schools to minimise disruption to classes.
“This funding further demonstrates the Beattie Government’s continued commitment to ensuring school buildings and grounds are properly maintained.”
