Deputy Premier, Treasurer and Minister for Infrastructure
The Honourable Anna Bligh

Meeting Queenslanders face-to-face, on their turf and on their terms, has Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries today (Monday) undertaking the first Ministerial Forums of the new Beattie Government.

Acting Premier Anna Bligh said that the forums offered a two-way benefit for local communities.

“It means people across the State have face-to-face access with Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries and vice versa,” Ms Bligh said.

“The State’s key decision-makers can hear first-hand the local issues and the Ministers can relay to local community leaders the latest government programs.

“This also means that when Cabinet next meets it has an increased first-hand understanding of local issues across the State,” Ms Bligh said.

Today’s first Ministerial Forums and next month’s Community Cabinet in Toowoomba are the first since the Government was re-elected in September.

Today’s forums will be held at:
• Dalby
• Yorkey’s Knob
• Rockhampton
• Springwood
• Moranbah
• Home Hill
• Caboolture
• Hervey Bay
• North Palm Beach
• Jindalee

Each forum agenda is tailored for the region and as a result a variety of topics will be discussed across the State.
