Minister for Emergency Services
The Honourable Pat Purcell
State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers from the Caboolture region were tonight honoured for their long and dedicated service.
Emergency Services Minister Pat Purcell presented members of the Caboolture SES Unit with National Medals and SES Meritorious Service Medals in a ceremony at Deception Bay. [A list of recipients is below.]
The Caboolture SES Unit is made up of the Bribie Island, Deception Bay and Caboolture Groups.
“SES volunteers right around the State have a vital role in helping to protect the safety and wellbeing of fellow Queenslanders,” Mr Purcell said.
“They willingly give their own time to help out in a time of need, such as during storms and floods and to search for missing persons.
“The volunteers honoured tonight have given decades of service to the SES. They thoroughly deserve the recognition for their outstanding efforts.
“I would like to thank the SES volunteers who received medals, and all the volunteers of the Caboolture SES Unit for their commitment to helping others.”
Mr Purcell also thanked the Caboolture Shire Council for its support of the local SES unit, and the families of volunteers.
“The commitment of the State’s volunteers can put a burden on family life, but the support of families helps them continue to serve the community with such distinction.”
