Minister for Public Works, Housing and Information and Communication Technology
The Honourable Robert Schwarten
Building contractors and suppliers in Brisbane have been invited to information sessions on doing business with the Queensland Government.
Public Works Minister Robert Schwarten said today QBuild’s new streamlined business methods would be discussed with contractors at two sessions at the Queensland Rugby Union Club, Ballymore.
He said the sessions would be held on Tuesday, October 31 and Thursday, November 2, both starting at 6pm.
“QBuild has developed a range of initiatives that will cut through much of the existing red tape,” Mr Schwarten said.
“The new systems include plain English contracts, streamlined work allocation systems avoiding costly tendering processes and a move towards ebusiness with opportunities for smaller contractors to take part.
“The ‘Working with QBuild’ event also offers a great opportunity for government and local industry to discuss future programs of work in the Brisbane area.”
Interested contractors and suppliers should contact Geoff Fett, QBuild on (07) 3404 3704.
