Minister for Public Works, Housing and Information and Communication Technology
The Honourable Robert Schwarten
This month the Queensland Building Services Authority (BSA) suspended the trading licence of Mackay-based building company Extreme Workforce & Employment Services Pty Ltd.
Public Works and Housing Minister Robert Schwarten advised the BSA took immediate action to suspend the licence when BSA’s investigations revealed the company had obtained its licence by fraud and improper means, and had no licensed person supervising its work.
“The BSA believed the conduct of the company’s representatives and the lack of supervision of jobs posed a serious risk to subcontractors and their employees, consumers and suppliers," said Mr Schwarten.
"The BSA therefore took immediate action to suspend Extreme’s licence.”
Each owner affected by the suspension has been informed by the BSA of their rights and entitlements under BSA’s Home Warranty Insurance Scheme.
All projects Extreme had underway at the time of their licence suspension are likely to be assigned to a licensed builder for completion.
