New General Manager set to rev up Indy: Fraser
The 2006 Lexmark Indy 300 is gearing up with the appointment of Greg Hooton as the new General Manager today.
Minister for Sport Andrew Fraser welcomed the announcement and said Mr Hooton would bring his wealth of experience to the role.
“Mr Hooton has been the vice-president of events for the International Management Group (IMG) for the past eight years,” Mr Fraser said.
“He was the Director of Operations for both the Australian Pavilion at the 2005 World Expo in Japan and the Sandown 500 Motorsport event so is more than qualified to manage an event like Indy.
“Mr Hooton brings his knowledge of both national and international markets which is a valuable asset as Indy is promoted through international media exposure to 164 countries worldwide.
“I am sure Mr Hooton will drive the Lexmark Indy 300 onto greater heights over the coming years.”
