The Honourable Paul Lucas
Minister for Transport and Main Roads Paul Lucas today thanked South East Queensland motorists and public transport users for their patience during this morning’s traffic disruptions and urged people to continue to be patient.

“I want to thank everyone involved, especially motorists and public transport users who suffered delays this morning,” Mr Lucas said.
“I’d like to assure everyone that staff from across Government, council and our public transport operators are looking at how things went this morning to see what we can improve.”
Mr Lucas said regular updates would be provided during the day regarding the traffic public transport situation.
Mr Lucas also thanked Brisbane City Council, Police, Main Roads, Queensland Transport and public transport operators.
“Lord Mayor Campbell Newman made it clear yesterday they the Brisbane City Council would offer every assistance it could and I appreciate the substantial help they have provided.”
Mr Lucas again apologised for the disruption the closure had caused.
“I want to apologise for the disruption this closure has caused,” Mr Lucas said.
“Main Roads has advised that there is an extremely low chance of the Ann St onramp collapsing but I don’t want to take any chances whatsoever.”
