Premier and Minister for Trade
The Honourable Peter Beattie
After more than 11 years of working with Queensland Premier Peter Beattie, principal media advisor Steve Bishop has resigned to seek new challenges.
Mr Beattie thanked Steve for the way in which he had performed the role and wished him well for the future.
Steve said: “I have enjoyed trying to keep up with the pace set by the Premier and leave the job still in awe of his determination to make a difference, his work ethic, his ability to work with people of disparate views to find a solution to problems and his resilience.
“It has been a pleasure working with him on his vision of turning Queensland into the Smart State.
“I thank him also for dealing with any mistake I made with his credo of ‘learn from it and move on.”
Steve has taken a temporary position in the Department of Premier and Cabinet as Acting Executive Director of State Services, Governance Division.
