Deputy Premier, Treasurer and Minister for Infrastructure
The Honourable Anna Bligh
Forty community organisations throughout South-east Queensland today shared in $1,015,917 as Acting Premier and Treasurer Anna Bligh announced the latest recipients of the Jupiters Casino Community Benefit Fund.
Ms Bligh said the grants for the groups not only gave them a much needed financial boost, they helped alleviate the burden of fund-raising not-for-profit organisations faced every day.
She said the grants allowed the groups to purchase equipment, upgrade their buildings and facilities and launch and maintain community projects.
“The grants really are an endorsement of the energy and commitment the groups demonstrate in their dedication to serving their various communities,” Ms Bligh said.
“They also allow the not-for-profit organisations to reach further into their communities to keep up the good work.
“For example, in this round, Alcohol and Drug Foundation Queensland received $100,000 and will now be able to extend their building at their Logan rehabilitation centre”.
Under the terms of the Funding scheme, organisations can apply for grants of up to $150,000, with successful recipients announced four times a year.

“The Board of Trustees ensures all applications are carefully considered and that projects providing the most benefit to communities are awarded grants where possible,” Ms Russo said.
“The Fund services an area from the Queensland/New South Wales border to the northern boundaries of the central Queensland shires of Boulia, Winton, Aramac, Belyando and Broadsound, so I encourage not-for-profit groups in these areas to apply for funding.”
