Minister for Communities, Disability Services, Seniors and Youth
The Honourable Warren Pitt

Disability Services Minister Warren Pitt will be among the 500 people expected to attend a two-day disability conference on the Gold Coast next week.

Mr Pitt said he was looking forward to the Shared Visions disability conference at Conrad Jupiters from 21-22 September.

“I’m pleased the Premier has allowed me to continue the projects and strategies I’ve started in the disability portfolio,” Mr Pitt said.

“I look forward to meeting as many of the delegates as I can during the time that I’m attending this important conference.”

“The conference will help to shape the future of the disability sector and the quality of life for people with a disability, their families and carers.”

The Shared Visions conference, organised by Disability Services Queensland, brings together people from throughout the state to work on the issues affecting the future of the disability sector.

The program for the two-day conference features keynote speeches by the Director of Focus Education Australia, John Joseph; international athlete, Gerard Gosens; paralympic skier, Michael Milton; and ABC television and radio presenter James O’Loghlin.

Up to 500 people are expected to attend, with delegates ranging from people with a disability, family and carers, service providers, and representatives from non-government organisations and government agencies.

Delegates can participate in more than 40 workshops, with the outcomes of the workshops shared during plenary sessions.
