CONDOLENCE BOOKS OPEN ACROSS QUEENSLAND FOR IRWIN FAMILY

More than 12,500 people have lodged messages of sympathy for Steve Irwin’s family through condolence books and the Queensland Government websites.
Condolence books are now open around the State – from Mt Isa to Cairns and down to the Gold Coast, enabling Queenslanders to send their personal condolences to Steve Irwin’s family.
The condolence books are at the offices of the Environmental Protection Agency and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service, along with Parliament House and the Executive Building at 100 George Street, Brisbane.
“Condolence books are now available at all EPA and Parks and Wildlife offices so it’s easy for anyone, including kids who really looked up to Steve, to write their special messages which will all be sent to the family,” Mr Beattie said.
“Steve was a tireless campaigner for the world’s animals and the environment, and he touched a chord with so many people, young and old, around the world.”
Mr Beattie said there will be a special tribute honouring Steve in the very near future, with the naming of a national park or waterfall among ideas being considered.
