Beattie Sends 'Texas Qld 4385' To 'Austin Texas 78711'

Premier Peter Beattie has sent Lee Kernaghan's latest album Electric Rodeo to Texas Governor Rick Perry as part of a renewed invitation for him to visit the southern inland Queensland town of Texas.

In March Mr Beattie, while in Austin Texas in the United States, asked Governor Perry that if he were visiting Australia later this year or early next year that he might include Texas on his itinerary.

With the release of Kernaghan's new album, which includes the thumping country rock song,'Texas Qld 4385', the Premier has been quick to reissue the invitation by sending him a copy of the new CD.

"I'm a Kernaghan fan and I hope Governor Perry will become one too."

In the letter to Governor Perry, (of PO Box 12428, Austin Texas 78711, United States of America) the Premier wrote:

"To ensure that you keep the invitation in mind I thought you might appreciate a copy of the CD together with an article on Lee Kernaghan and the song .."

"I hope this letter finds you well and I look forward to seeing you in Texas, Queensland," the letter concluded.

"I look forward to Governor Perry's visit and hope that he enjoys Lee's latest," said Mr Beattie.
