Queensland’s top exporters take out prestigious awards
- Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards winners recognised for international success across manufacturing, technology, food and services.
- Cook Medical named Queensland Exporter of the Year, alongside winners from Brisbane, Logan, the Gold Coast and regional Queensland.
- The Crisafulli Government is delivering better services through a stronger economy by getting Queensland back open for business after a decade of decline under Labor.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering more opportunities for businesses looking to grow on the world stage and celebrating those helping drive Queensland's ambitious trade reset.
Labor's decade of decline tarnished Queensland's international reputation and damaged relationships with our key trading partners, but the Crisafulli Government is delivering better services through a stronger economy by opening the State back up for business.
The Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards recognise the local businesses taking home grown innovations like medical devices, firefighting equipment, digital technology and regional produce to the world.
Cook Medical claimed both Queensland Exporter of the Year and the International Health award - the Eight Mile Plains based manufacturer exports around 96% of its products, sending cutting edge Queensland-made medical devices to treat people around the world.
Among the other winners was the Sunshine Coast's Helitak Fire Fighting Equipment, which took out the Manufacturing and Advanced Materials award for specialist equipment, including tanks which turn helicopters into firefighting aircrafts.
Another Sunshine Coast exporter, Infravision, took out the Sustainability and Green Economy award for its powerline construction technology.
Central Queensland cemented its spot as the country's beef capital with local producer KING RIVER named best Regional Exporter.
Minister for Finance, Trade, Employment and Training Ros Bates said the winners showed how Queensland ideas could build businesses and careers here at home, whilst competing globally.
“Whether it’s a medical device made in Brisbane, a firefighting tank from the Sunshine Coast or beef from Central Queensland, these businesses are giving customers around the world a reason to choose Queensland,” Minister Bates said.
“After Labor’s decade of decline, the Crisafulli LNP Government is giving businesses practical backing to take their ambitions further.”
“Years of work sit behind these awards. Our winners have developed their products, backed their people and earned their customers’ trust. They deserve being recognised at the highest level.”
“Queensland is open for business. The Crisafulli LNP Government wants more orders for Queensland businesses and more opportunities for the Queenslanders who work in them.”
Winners of the 13 national categories will represent Queensland at the Australian Export Awards in Canberra in November.
