Refreshed Regional Arts Services Network to deliver vibrant Queensland communities
- Six providers confirmed to deliver statewide support for the arts sector through a refreshed Regional Arts Services Network (RASN).
- Regionally based arts officers will also deliver tailored support for a range of artforms including music, dance, visual arts, theatre and design.
- The Crisafulli Government is delivering Queensland’s Time to Shine, a 10-year arts and culture strategy by strengthening access to the arts for all Queenslanders, after a decade of decline under Labor.
The Crisafulli Government is delivering a plan for Queensland’s future through a thriving creative scene and a new approach to delivering services for regional arts.
Six Queensland arts organisations will drive a refreshed Regional Arts Services Network (RASN) in 2026 and 2027 by providing services and expert advice.
The providers are Artisan (visual arts, craft and design), AusDance (dance), Flying Arts Alliance (visual arts), Just Us Theatre Ensemble (theatre), and QMusic (music).
In addition, Topology will provide multi-arts support in disciplines such as writing, festivals, and community engagement, and will also provide coordination across the network to enhance connections between artists and organisations.
Previously offering services based on geographical location, The Regional Arts Services Network will now engage artform-focussed providers with a statewide approach, as well as the employment of regionally based artform specialists.
Minister for the Arts John-Paul Langbroek said the new approach to RASN responded to sector feedback, recognising the unique needs of the State’s creative workforce.
“The Crisafulli Government is committed to strengthening the state’s arts sector,” Minister Langbroek said.
“These expert providers will support artists and creatives with artform-based skills development and advice for careers and arts businesses.
“A statewide service coordinator will address challenges and boost opportunities in the sector.
“The Regional Arts Services Network will also help Queenslander’s access arts experiences and creative employment in their own communities, no matter where they live.
“After a decade of decline under the former Labor Government, this initiative forms part of the Crisafulli Government’s 10-year strategy for arts and culture, Queensland’s Time to Shine.
“The Crisafulli Government is delivering the foundations for Queensland’s arts sector, which will pave the way for creatives, stories and communities to shine, as we head towards the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.”
The Creative Director of Topology, Christa Powell, welcomed the opportunity to provide statewide services management for RASN.
“Topology has spent the past 25 years strengthening networks, supporting artists, communities and organisations and has amplified regional voices across Queensland,” Ms Powell said.
“We look forward to working in partnership with Arts Queensland and the other providers to ensure artists in all regions are connected, supported and thrive.”
